We have long been asked whether we sell our pure beeswax and had always been a bit nervous of putting it on our website in case we ran out! However, we’re so happy that now, two years into creating Neve’s Bees, we have enough hives and enough contacts with our lovely local beekeeping friends that we can offer our pure Oxfordshire beeswax – all made here in Oxfordshire by our local bees.
We use the cappings wax with which the bees cover the honey on the frames. Having removed the frames from the hive, we simply slice off the wax, heat it to below 70°C, clean it with warm water and filter through fine cloth before pouring it into the little hexagon moulds. We do not bleach our beeswax, neither do we add any chemicals. It is likely to retain traces of propolis, honey and pollen. It is certified by MCS Laboratories (who are UKAS Accredited).
Beeswax is such an amazing substance which has been used in cosmetics, for keeping needles and saws in good shape, restoring furniture, making candles etc for generations! (here’s a link to a blog we wrote about Why we love natural beeswax!)
We hope you enjoy using it as much as we do!
We donate 10% of our profits to local wildlife charities such as BBOWT (Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust) and Eynsham Nature Recovery Network to help preserve our wildlife and beautiful countryside for generations to come.
